Consultant, Chief Compliance Officer
May 2010 – present
Shawn is one of the firm’s founding partners and has spent the past 25+ years of his career focused on Defined Contribution (DC). He serves in both a consultative capacity to our clients and is a member of the company’s Investment Manager Research & Selection Committee.
Prior to launching Gosselin Consulting Group, Shawn was a member of Mercer Outsourcing’s DC Investment Services Team and provided retirement consulting services to the firm’s institutional clients. Shawn also spent seven years of his career managing Fidelity’s non-proprietary DC FundsNet program and collaborating with the firm’s investment consultants on plan investment design.
Shawn earned a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Business Administration from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics (now the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics) at the University of New Hampshire (Durham). Shawn also earned the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from Fiduciary360 and has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility.
Shawn resides in southern New Hampshire with his wife and two kids. Outside the office, Shawn is an outdoorsman and spends a lot of his time with his family in northern NH. He especially enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, and an occasional fierce game of cribbage on those rainy days. As an avid hiker, Shawn and his son have successfully climbed all 67 of the 4,000+ foot mountains in New England, many of them more than once and in the winter. Preparing for a hike, climbing steep terrain, navigating a rugged trail, and eventually summiting a beautiful mountain have a lot in common with working toward retirement and being ready when you arrive - getting safely off the mountain is just as important!
